Rules

By applying, participating or volunteering, you agree to all rules below.

Qualification Round (Applications):

• In each application period, the number of available empty places will be published publicly, and can be modified at any time.
• Depending on the number of available empty places, MCube Team will decide the qualified contestants after a ranking.
• Applications Periods can only be extended or cancelled.
• All students (no nationality restrictions) can apply to both Marathons.
• All 18 – 21 years old students applications to the Easy Marathon will be refused.

Marathon Day (Both):

• All students (no nationality restrictions) younger than 18 years-old, can participate in both Marathons (Easy & Hard), students between 18 and 21 years-old can only participate in the Hard Marathon.
• The Marathons will start and end at an exact time, time zones differences will not be considered.
• The starting and ending time of the Marathons will be comfortable with the Mediterranean and Gulf countries’ time zones.
• The first 5 winners (or more) in the Easy Marathon will be able to choose to participate in the Hard one. However, their achievement in the Easy one will be waived.
• The time until the next problem publication will be announced at the Marathon page by the publication of each problem.
• Only the first 3 contestants to solve a problem will be given points (3 for the 1st, 2 for the 2nd, and 1 for the 3rd).
• The only time limit to submit a solution is the ending time of the Marathon.
• Solutions should be submitted in French or English, simple explanations in Arabic or Spanish within a solution primarily written in French or English can be exempted.
• Only contestants with at least one point will get a participation certificate, honorable mentions and medals points requirements to be set after the testing days.
• Certificates and medals are only free in electronic format.
• Online contestants are free of charge, in-person contestants may be asked for a participation fee.

People and Data Policies:

• After filling a form, MCube has the right to verify the submitted information.
• A person risks to be kicked out, if any false information was given by him/her.
• MCube has the right to recorrect solutions.
• MCube may update its calendar at any time.
• Being a MCube Staff is a volunteering activity. No revenue will be given in case of an absence of funding.
• MCube has the right to share participants and staff’s names, scores, ranks, and roles.
• MCube has the right to share participants solutions between MCube Staff.
• MCube has the right to record in-person participants during in-person Marathons Sessions.
• Other companies data policies and terms of service may apply (WordPress, Tutanota, Google).

MCube may update these rules at anytime, and it is your duty to keep yourself aware of.
